Antique German Beer Stein Hand-Painted Barmaid Silver Plated Lid by Marzi&Remy #435 c. Description: This old stein was made by Marzi and Remy - one of the oldest and famous stein making factories located in Hoehr-Grenzhausen. The stein was manufactured in the 1890s and is made of glazed pottery. It is decorated with a beautiful picture of a woman - most likely a barmaid - raising stein, surrounded by ornate decorations and a saying in a ribbon. The picture is hand-painted over transfer outline and highlighted with raised enamel details.

The inscription on the ribbon reads. Hast du Kater ist mein Rath, trinke früh was du trankst spat.

If you have a hangover heres my advice. Drink in the morning what you drank late at night. The stein has a heavy ornate silverplated lid - a beautiful work of art. The stein is large and impressive - it is 8.5 tall to the top of the finial, 0.5 L capacity. Very nice and impressive drinking vessel.
