Description: This very interesting German beer stein was made around late 1860s - early 1870s. The body of the stein is hand-blown glass decorated with the cut decorations in the brilliant-cut manner to create many small facets for the perfect optical effect. The bottom has polished-of pontil mark and cut facets as well.

The lid is inlaid with porcelain insert. The insert is a nicely and skillfully painted porcelain miniature showing a charming lady's portrait. Beautiful example of miniature painting on porcelain.

It is in excellent condition with only minimal age-related wear. It is 7 tall to the top of the thumblift, 0.5L capacity. I guaramtee my description and dating.
