Vintage German Beer Stein Large 2 1/2 Liters. Size: 17" tall to top of lid x 5 3/8" diameter at bottom x 3 1/2 diameter at top - all approximate. Pewter lid is bent at the top and the finial snapped off. It has been Crazy Glued back on.
The stoneware is in beautiful condition. The colors and details are vivid. The size is impressive - 2 1/2 liters. No chips, scratches or cracks. Vintage from the pre 1970's.
I was a teen in the 1970's and this stein was the center piece on a shelf behind my Dad's built-in bar. I suspect he inherited it from my Grandfather. Anyway, it's old but authentic and super nice! Unfortunately my Dad probably packed it poorly when he relocated to Florida. The Finial broke off and the top is bent.I suspect that he glued the finial back on. He is no longer here to ask.
